Wordpress Themes For Free

Wordpress themes for free is one of the most searched for phrases relating to Wordpress. Essentially, the Wordpress theme is the 'clothing' of your site. It is what makes it look good or bad. A lot of bloggers that have no design related experience search for free Wordpress themes because they don't know how to create or modify their own. It can be a daunting task creating a Wordpress theme even for the accomplished designer so I can see what the appeal of grabbing a free version which is already set up and can be implemented in minutes.

So this leads me on to where you can find free Wordpress themes in and around the net. Below is a list I've created of some of the best sites to find some decent looking themes. Nobody wants a boring theme that people won't want to look at.

Misunderstanding The Importance Of A Blog

I'll be honest, I've totally neglected this blog. When I set it up I didn't really know what I wanted from a blog or what a blog really did in terms of helping you get noticed.

A few years ago I was made redundant from my graphic design job in Gateshead and struggled to get back into the design industry. I found that unless you had HTML and CSS knowledge, even as a graphic designer you were going to struggle. I learnt how to code properly in my spare time whilst I took a job in a totally different industry to help financially. This past year though I have finally fallen into a job where I am learning so much, from SEO, blogging, HTML newsletters and much more. Finally I have realised what I have been missing for so long. A blog that I update frequently with good content that people want to read!!!

Now don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that this post is going to make you want to read further posts but at least it has got me back into the swing of things. I'm going to continue blogging from this blogger account. In reality it's not great and was set up for quickness years ago. In the coming months I want to try and redesign my portfolio at Logan Designs and incorporate a Wordpress blog, hopefully mirroring the look of my new site and updating the blog regularly. It might take a while because I want to set up a few different blogs on various subjects but I'm sure I'll get there in the end.

So stay with me folks and hopefully by Christmas (I know it sounds ages away but it's not) I'll have a new fancy site that you will wanna keep coming back to read!

Working hard

You may have noticed that my blog has dried up over the past few months. I have been working hard lately and found it difficult to fit it in but I am going to make a hard effort to make some more postings in the coming days and weeks

Photograph Restoration

I quite like to dabble in a bit of the old photo resoration field. It gives you a chance to experiment and improve on your photoshop skills. Some can be really challenging whereas some are really easy for beginners.

Rootschat.com run a forum for people interested in their family trees. There is a section on there for people wanting old photographs repaired and it's a great opportunity for beginners wanting to improve their skills. You don't get paid for the work but it's good experience and a feel good factor when they praise you. Head on over!
